Seeing well isn’t just about reading the smallest line on a chart. It’s about having a comfortable and confident vision for real-life chores, office work, school, screens, driving, and everything in between. At Laramie Peak Vision, our eye exams combine thorough assessments to protect your eye health and fine-tune your vision.
Here are some benefits you will feel day to day:
We start by listening. Your optometrist reviews vision concerns, medical and medication history, family eye conditions, and daily visual demands. This context ensures we choose only the tests that benefit you.
Using a standardized chart, we measure the clarity of each eye’s vision. This establishes a baseline and guides the rest of the exam.
Pre-Testing (as appropriate)
The familiar “which is better, one or two?” process determines your exact prescription for glasses. We also evaluate near and intermediate demands for reading and computer work.
We assess how your eyes work together and how efficiently they focus—both critical for comfortable reading, close work, and nighttime driving.
A gentle microscope examines the surface of the eye, including the lids, cornea, lens, and tear film, to identify conditions such as dryness, allergies, cataracts, and more.
Through dilation and/or high-resolution imaging, we examine the back of the eye for early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic changes, retinal tears, and other conditions that often start silently.
We translate findings into plain language and outline next steps, whether that’s updating glasses, scheduling a contact lens fitting, or coordinating medical follow-up.
Many eye conditions begin without apparent symptoms. Regular, consistent testing helps us catch issues early—when they’re most manageable—and ensures your prescription is accurate, so your eyes don’t work harder than they should. You’ll leave with clarity on your current status and a personalized plan moving forward.
Recommended exam frequency is:
Calm, step-by-step testing with gentle light use and clear explanations.
A steady, organized visit focused on your care—not on waiting.
You’ll understand your results and options without sales talk or add-ons you don’t need.

My son had an eye emergency and our regular vision clinic wasn’t staffed with a doctor that day. Laramie Peak got us in immediately, got us right back, and Dr. Howell was able to remove the foreign object from my son’s eye with precision, confidence, and great bed side manner.I was so impressed and my 8 year old was too. He now tells everyone about the “cool eye doctor” who cared for him with and about how nice the doctor was. We have been considering switching vision clinics for a while now and Dr. Howell and Laramie Peak Vision just cemented that decision!Posted on Google Kayla MarroquinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Howell is amazing! He gave me the best eye exam that I ever had! I never felt rushed. He took the time explain what he was doing and why. Instead of just suggesting some expensive eye drops for dry eyes he took the time to give me a plan for actually resolving the issue. The front desk staff and technicians were great to work with. I had an excellent experience here and highly recommend Laramie Peak Vision.Posted on Google Maddison ClarkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First time here and honestly, what a great experience. The staff is so genuinely nice, the atmosphere is cozy and clean, and Dr. Howell is a 10/10 doctor. He answered every question I had, was patient with my son during his initial check-up (he had lots of questions too), and addressed any/every concern I had. So happy to have found this gem.
Yes. Eyes change slowly, and many issues begin without symptoms. Regular exams protect comfort, clarity, and long-term health.
Most comprehensive appointments take 30–45 minutes. If additional testing is appropriate, we’ll explain why and how long it adds.
Absolutely. We use gentle, modern methods and explain each step so you stay comfortable.
Often it’s a mix of focusing demand, screen time, and dryness. Your exam helps pinpoint the cause and guide targeted solutions—like lens design changes, ergonomic tips, or dry-eye care.
That’s our job to uncover. We use targeted tests and easy questions to translate your symptoms into a clear plan.
